Person-Centred Care

Course Overview:
This course is designed to develop the knowledge, values, and skills required to place the individual at the heart of care and support. This approach promotes dignity, respect, and independence, ensuring care is tailored to each person’s unique needs, preferences, and life history. This training is aligned with CQC fundamental standards and the Care Act 2014, and supports staff in delivering compassionate, high-quality, and outcome-focused care.

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Define person-centred care and explain why it is essential in health and social care settings

  • Understand how to involve individuals in their care planning and decision-making

  • Promote dignity, respect, and choice in everyday practice

  • Communicate effectively and support individuals’ rights to make informed choices

  • Recognise how equality, diversity, and inclusion are embedded in person-centred approaches

  • Reflect on their role in promoting individual wellbeing and empowerment
